Avoid Unnecessary Service Calls For Your Garage Door

We often have unnecessary service calls when a customer's garage door won't close. Though we are more than willing to go over troubleshooting steps over the phone, many people just assume something is broken. The problem occurs when we show up, and have the malfunction diagnosed and fixed in less than five minutes. Most people don't want to pay a service company for an hour of its time when it only takes a minute to actually fix the problem. And what is this problem? Often enough it is misaligned safety eyes. This safety feature is designed to keep the door from closing on anything, but if there is an obstruction or misalignment, the door just won't go down. The good news is that this is typically very easy for the average person to fix. So if your door won't close with the remote, try holding the wall button down until it's all the way closed. If the door closes than you've diagnosed the problem. Next look at the safety eyes. Are all the lights glowing? Are any of the lights flashing? If a light is out or flashing, then the next step is to manually align the safety eyes until you have glowing lights on both sides. If that doesn't fix it then call a garage door company, but more often than not the safety eyes are simply misaligned.

Enclosing Your Carport With Garage Doors Adds Value to Your Home

Close in Your Carport With Garage Doors (Marietta and Atlanta)

Many older homes in Atlanta and Marietta Georgia were built with open carports instead of a closed garage with garage doors. Having an open carport is like inviting a thief to look through your car or whatever else you store in the area. In urban settings like Atlanta and Marietta, security is important. By framing in that old carport and adding nice new garage doors, not only are you securing your house, but you are also adding value and curb appeal to your property. Did you know that a new garage door is the #1 home improvement that pays for itself when you sell your house? At CSS Garage Doors we have extensive experience closing in carports. We are a garage door company that also specializes in carpentry and windows.
